Tapeboard Market Terminal

OVERVIEW

Tapeboard is a browser-based market terminal that consolidates equity screening, charting, fundamentals, economic data, SEC filings, crypto, forex, and paper trading into a single unified workspace. It is designed for self-directed investors and independent analysts who require professional-grade tooling without enterprise pricing.

Note

Tapeboard runs entirely in a browser tab. No installation, no download, and no Windows dependency is required. Your workspace is available on any device where you can log in.

The terminal is modeled on the single-workspace, consistent-command-surface paradigm pioneered by institutional terminals, rebuilt for the individual investor at a fraction of the cost.

FEATURES

Tapeboard ships with 12 modules sharing a common layout grid, keyboard shortcut scheme, and color palette. All data streams live.

Module Description
Real-Time Scanner Gap-ups, unusual volume, premarket movers, and natural-language queries
Candlestick Charts 50+ indicators including RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, VWAP, and volume profile
Fundamentals Company fundamentals plus insider activity and Form 4 transaction data
Economic Data 800,000+ economic data series with full charting
SEC EDGAR Filings search with AI-generated summaries of 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K documents
Crypto Live order books across major cryptocurrencies
Forex / Commodities / Bonds Live feeds across asset classes
Paper Trading Simulator L2-walked fills, options, shorts, LULD halts, and SSR simulation

Tip

The paper trading simulator is designed to approximate a real execution environment. It supports options, spreads, short selling, Limit-Up Limit-Down halts, and Short Sale Rule conditions — significantly closer to live market behavior than most free simulators.

HOW TO USE

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to tapeboard.com.
  2. Create an account. No credit card is required for the free tier.
  3. Setup takes approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Log in from any browser to access your full workspace immediately.
  • Type a ticker symbol, filter, or view name into the command prompt to jump directly to any module or dataset.
  • All 12 modules are accessible from the same workspace without switching tabs or applications.
  • The layout grid is consistent across every module. Hotkeys learned in one module apply in all others.

Correlating Data Across Modules

Because all modules share a single workspace, cross-asset correlation workflows do not require copy-pasting between separate tools. For example, overlaying VIX activity against 2-year Treasury yield movements can be done within the terminal without leaving the page.

Tip

Use the economic data module alongside the candlestick chart module to correlate macro series with price action directly within the same session.

KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

All keyboard shortcuts are consistent across every module in the terminal.

Action Shortcut
Jump to ticker Type ticker symbol in command prompt
Jump to any module Type module name or filter in command prompt
Navigate workspace Keyboard-first; no menu hunting required

Note

Full keyboard shortcut reference is available within the terminal. Press ? while inside the workspace to open the shortcut overlay.
