Install App¶
OVERVIEW¶
Tapeboard installs directly from your browser as a progressive web app. No app store download is required. Once installed, it opens full screen without browser bars, gets its own icon, and updates itself automatically. On mobile, the installed app supports push alerts for watchlist movements and alert triggers.
Note
Push alerts on iPhone only work when Tapeboard is opened from the home screen icon, not from a Safari tab.
PLATFORM INSTALLATION¶
iPhone and iPad¶
Tip
Safari is required on iPhone and iPad. Chrome on iOS cannot install web apps.
- Open tapeboard.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (square with an upward arrow).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The Tapeboard icon appears on your home screen.
- Open Tapeboard from that icon going forward.
Tapeboard also displays an Add Tapeboard to Home Screen banner in Safari after a few seconds as a prompt.
Android¶
- Open tapeboard.com in Chrome.
- When the Get alerts when your watchlist moves banner appears, tap it and confirm Install. Push alert setup is included in this step.
- If no banner appears, tap Chrome's ⋮ menu at the top right, then select Install app (some devices show Add to Home screen).
- Open Tapeboard from the new icon in your app drawer.
Computer (Chrome or Edge)¶
- Open tapeboard.com in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar (small monitor with a down arrow).
- Click Install. Tapeboard opens in its own window with an icon added to your dock or taskbar.
Note
If no install icon is visible, open the browser menu and look for Install Tapeboard. In Chrome it appears under Cast, save, and share. In Edge it appears under Apps.

HOW TO USE¶
Turn On Push Alerts¶
Push alerts notify you when an alert fires or your watchlist moves, even when Tapeboard is closed.
- Open Tapeboard from the installed app icon, not a browser tab.
- Tap Enable push alerts when the banner appears, then tap Allow when prompted by your device.
- If you missed the banner, go to Settings → Alerts → Push notifications and enable it manually.
- Configure individual alerts in Alerts. Push, email, and in-app delivery can be selected per alert.
KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS¶
Press and hold the Tapeboard icon on mobile, or right-click it on a computer, to jump directly to:

TROUBLESHOOTING¶

| No "Add to Home Screen" on iPhone | You are in Chrome or a built-in browser. Open the page in Safari instead. |
| Push alerts not arriving on iPhone | Confirm Tapeboard is opened from the home screen icon. Check Settings → Notifications → Tapeboard on your iPhone. |
| Accidentally denied notification permission | Re-allow notifications for tapeboard.com in your phone or browser settings, then re-enable push in Settings → Alerts → Push notifications. |
| Need to remove the app | Delete it like any other app. Your account, watchlists, and alerts remain stored on Tapeboard. |
